Description : Egypt, Romano Egyptian Period, ca. 30 BCE to 2nd century CE, Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely set of 3 bronze or tinned bronze fibulae from across the geographic reaches of the ancient Roman Empire. First is a V-shaped brooch made from tinned bronze with segmented arms and a spiraling pin. A petite Roman U-shaped brooch is formed from bronze and has a series of molded segments comprising its body. The largest bronze fibula is Romano-Egyptian in origin and has capital-form terminals before ending in a spiraling pin base and a curved, bifurcated pin catch. Size of largest (Romano Egyptian): 3.7 L x 2.625 W (9.4 cm x 6.7 cm) Provenance: ex-Nancy and Dr. E.F.
