A finely-preserved example of an overseer (or reis) ushabti, a funerary doll made from faience and covered with lustrous cobalt-blue glaze. The figure's signature overseer skirt extends out from the legs and hangs over the feet while a black-painted whip is held in the left hand. Additional black pigment emphasizes the eyes, mouth, and tripartite wig of the standing figure, and a column of faint hieroglyphs in front of the legs identify the figure as Nesi-ta-udjat. The rarity of this figure stems from how scholars believe this to be the only overseer ushabti identified for this particular individual.
