Description : African Art Punu-Lumbo wooden mask from Gabon. Mask features caolin and red & black tone oil painted face with intricately carved coiffure. Possibly an Okuyi (mokuyi) white-faced mask, since it features the 9 scale-like pattern on forehead, ‘this is said to be a ‘central eye’ and also a flowering tree.’ Mask measures approximately 16 inches in length by 10 inches in width by 7.5 inches in depth. Mask has surface wear consistent with age.
