Description : African Art Punu-Lumbo mask from Gabon. Mask features caolin painted face with intricately carved hairstyle. Possibly an Okuyi (mokuyi) white-faced mask, since it features the 9 scale-like pattern on forehead, ‘this is said to be a ‘central eye’ and also a flowering tree.’ Mask measures approximately 12.5 inches in length by 8.5 inches in width by 7 inches in depth. Mask has surface wear consistent with age.
