This is the rating and price for Pendant Of A Baboon

Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 27th Dynasty, ca. 664 to 404 BCE. A mold-formed faience pendant of a baboon seated with bent legs atop an integral plinth, all covered in blue-green glaze. The upright primate presents with a broad, convex chest, a large head with almond-shaped eyes and a thick snout, and bent arms holding a wadjet (also wedjat or Eye of Horus). The baboon is a zoomorphic variation of Thoth, the typically ibis-headed god of mathematics, intelligence, and the moon. An integral suspension loop on the verso suggests this pendant was worn on a necklace strand in ancient times. Size: 0.6 W x 1.3 H (1.5 cm x 3.3 cm) Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
