Title : Pantheon Aegyptiorum Sive De Diis Eorum Commentarius, Period : 1750
Condition report : First edition. The author, a doctor of theology in Frankfurt and a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences in Berlin, based his work on the mythology of the Egyptians, with numerous analogies with Greco-Roman mythology. His work on Coptic language and antiquities and their application to the explanation of the linguistic and material difficulties of the Old Testament is very worthy (ADB XIII, 527). The Pantheon Aegyptiorum is one of his most important writings in this area.Brunet III, 476: Ouvrage savant et fort cheré.Bado e Mart, auctioneer, Padova, IT
