Description : Details: This lot consists of thirteen (13) original antique color lithograph plates depicting various Ancient Egyptian and Ethiopian monuments, objects and designs including vases, temples, obelisks, textiles, and jewelry. These handsome plates measure between approx. 15x21 and 22x28 overall. The majority are from E. Prisse d'Avennes, printed by Dulong/Hangard-Mauge and published by Arthus-Bertrand. This collection of plates is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
