Description : Northern Africa, Sahara Desert, Neolithic, ca. 10,000 to 6,400 BCE. An intriguing set of carved stone lip adornments, each with a flat base, arched top, and drastically sloping sides. Two exhibit an opaque surface with mottled natural hues of grey, brown, and tan, while the other appears translucent in a lustrous shade of light pink. All three feature silky smooth surfaces. Three astonishing ancient artifacts that grant a humbling perspective on our own place in history.
