This is the rating and price for Lese/Bira /Ndaaka (?) Mask

Description : Lese/Bira /Ndaaka (?) - Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ituri Region. Mask. Hardwood with dark patina. Signs of use.. It is difficult to establish the exact ethnic connotation for this beautiful mask among the myriad ethnic groups that populate the forests of the Ituri region of northwest Congo. Most of the known specimens of this area combine human traits with black or red decorations in dots, stars, footprints or, as in this case, leopard skin, There is little for sure in African art, but in this case it is certain the enormous expressiveness of this mask characterized by a facial structure similar to the League, but with the geometric figure of the square constant for eyes and mouth, The latter reaches out in a prolonged and dramatic scream. A sort of Munch’s Scream of black Africa. Hardwood with dark patina (at the back the patina is clear and glossy), several defects including some resulting from wood knots, black pigment and considerable signs of use.. Cm 15,50 x 30,00 x 8,00.
