Description : West Africa, Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire, probably Dan peoples, ca. mid-20th century. A tall - taller than me! - wooden staff capped with two faces, one oriented upward, the other immediately below it and oriented downward, aside from these and two raised, nub-like forms at its base, the staff is smooth and unornamented. The Janus-headed motif is a popular one in West African art.
