Description : Large Fang or Baule Style Mask African Ivory Coast or Gabon. Modern. Size: 13-1/2H. Larger than lifesize decorative mask of deep hollowed and tapered oval form, having thick wedge nose separating small eye openings, layered relief brows, triangular scarification at cheeks, and thick lips. The thick rim carved with relief triangular pattern. Some encrusted white kaolin on surface. Interesting repairs made with rattan strips along forehead and around eye.
