This is the rating and price for Kpeliè Mask

Description : African art. Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso -Senufo. Kpeliè mask. Metal alloy. Oxidation, visible defects, signs of use.. Splendid in its aesthetics, fine casting quality, significant patina and obvious signs of use, this ancient Kpeliè mask was used during initiation ceremonies into secret societies, for agricultural ceremonies and funerals. Complex in its rich array of 'feet', horns, ears, scarifications and even a kind of piercing, and at the same time austerely expressive, this Kpeliè mask is as iconic and representative of classical Senufo sculpture as it gets. Lastly, two words must deservedly be spent on the skill of the anonymous sculptor who created this magnificent object by casting it in a very thin thickness (partly to save notoriously expensive metal, partly to avoid burdening the dancer and make his movements easier). It is so thin that in some places, due to time and wear, some holes and gaps have formed, which do not detract from the beauty of this mask, but on the contrary, increase its aesthetic value as they testify to its antiquity. Its total weight is grams 528 . Cm 15,00 x 27,00 x 8,00.
