Battlefield Relics, 1879, a collection of battlefield relics recovered from the Isandlwana battlefield site on 22nd January 1879 by Hermanus Johannes Van Der Berg, artefacts include: 3 Martini-Henry MK2 bullet heads with double cannelure rings and crow-foot marks, 6 buckles from the British 1871 valise pattern infantry equipment, possibly from braces, straps holding the mess tin and bayonet frog, presented together in a box frame with printed title and information adhered to background, authentication label from Amafa Akwazulu Natali to verso QTY: (1) NOTE: Provenance: Donated to the Thembani Collection Trust, Mtonjaneni Museum in 2002. The relics have been validated and catalogued by the South African Heritage Resources Agency and by Amafa Akwzulu Natali.
