This is the rating and price for Important Egyptian Bronze Figure Of Khnum, 1070

Description : Egypt, 20th Dynasty, ca. 1185 BCE - 1070 BCE. A bronze statuette of the ram god Khnum depicted in regal stride, with clenched fists, wearing the Atef crown. Lightly incised detail on hair, horns, and robe. Although not especially well known today, Khnum was one of the most important gods to the Egyptian. He was regarded as one of the creation gods (he is said to have created himself in an egg, responsible for the first flooding in Egypt, and for the beautiful queen Hatshepsut). The patina on this piece is a beautiful green with an almost river-like quality in some places. 4H. Custom stand. Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, IL, acquired in the 1950s.
