Description : This is a very old and well used head rest from the Dogon peoples of Mali, West Africa. Carved from a single piece of wood with a elaborate incised design and openwork on the supports , featuring two Horse head handles or finials and a wonderful golden honey color patina. The headrest measures 17 inches wide x 7 inches tall.
