Description : XVIII Dynasty, circa 1567-1320 B.C., gray-green granite, the subject wears the Khepresh - Blue Crown - signifying the king's status as a warrior or, possibly, implying his divinity as well. Expertly mounted to a polished black stone base. 12 in., with base 16.75 in. A similar head is in the Cleveland Museum of Art, 52.513. Royal Egyptian portraits of this size and quality are elusive and seldom come to the market. Ex.
