Description : Up for bid is one grade-A ( no putty or clay) 50 million year old North African base cut and mounted on a travertine base fossil shark tooth Otodus obliquus is a extinct Mackerel Shark that lived approximately 55 million years ago. Beautifully colored teeth from the phosphate pits in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Teeth average approximately 2 in. 2.5in.in.(some may be up to 3 or more depending on availability) and are all good quality or better, very attractive teeth. These teeth are all hand-selected and some may have some restoration The Great Grandfather of the megalodon. Great natural science gift. The miness are located about 70km north of Marrakesh. The deposits are about 50mys. old (Eocene}.The specimen you receive may also contain other vertibrate fossils such as bones, scales, feathers. etc.etc.
