Description : **Originally Listed At $300** Egypt, Coptic culture, ca. 5th to 6th century CE. Two lovely textile fragments from the same panel, each formed from woven woolen and cotton fibers in hues of black, yellow, blue, red, green, and cream. Both have a matching, dense register of abstract geometric and linear motifs. The colorful design is surrounded by a solid green tabby weave. The green is a bright, mossy hue, and contrasts beautifully with the motif. Both pieces are mounted within a wooden and glass frame. Size of larger fragment: 9 L x 8 W (22.9 cm x 20.3 cm), frame: 15.6 L x 12.5 W (39.6 cm x 31.8 cm) Provenance: private Ventura County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
