Description : A plaque carved in high relief with a standing female figure, reddish patina, an oval panel pierced about the border, head finial and carved breasts, black patina, a maskette with metal eyes, dark glossy patina, and a clapper with carved breasts and incised ornament 11.5cm. to 26cm. long (4) NOTES The African from whom Josef Herman bought the first item in this lot (in about 1970) informed him that the panel was hung in the doorway of the house of a chief, to be touched by those entering the house.
