Description : Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 11th-7th century B.C. Solid multi-hued amulet of a fish, molded in the round, raised detailing depicting scales with shades of blue, aqua and green. Made in the shape of the Tilapia Nilotic fish which is commonly found in the Nile River. This fish was greatly loved by the ancient Egyptians and it was used as a decorative motif on a variety of materials including stone, ceramics and glass. 3L x 1-3/4H Provenance: Ex-Private Royal Oak, MI Collection.
