Description : Ethiopia, Auxumite Kingdom, c. 4 th - 5 th Century AD. A wonderfully crafted small terra cotta human head fragment with large pinched nose, molded ears, mouth and eyes (one with eye pellet missing). His long incised hair is drawn backwards with a 5-spike appearance at the end. Hole at bottom enables it to be easily mounted on Lucite stand. H: 2.5. Choice and rare! Alex Malloy Collection, NY, Cf.
