Description : Details: This lot consists of the antique lithograph shown in the corresponding images. This lithograph, Cleopatra's Needle with Part of Alexandria, Taken from the North, was drawn on stone by W. Walton from a sketch by Captain C. Head, and printed by C. Hullmandel. The plate is from Eastern and Egyptian scenery, ruins, &c. by C. F. Head. Depicted in this image are men excavating the base of the obelisk, with ruins to one side and camels in the background. This lithograph is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
