Description : Late Period-Ptolemaic, circa 300 B.C. With heads turned to face one-another and teeth bared, their tails overlapping behind, the stippled surface delineating their scaly bodies and spines, set on an integral base, 31/8in. (7.9cm.) long, chipped, and an Egyptian Psamtek cream glazed composition foundation tile, bearing on one side the cartouche of Psamtek II, inscribed with the 'son of Re Psamtek, gives life', and on the other side with the 'king of upper and lower Egypt, nefer-ib-re, may he live forever', 26th Dynasty, circa 595-589 B.C., 11/8in. (4.3cm.) high, glaze worn (2)
