Description : A nice Egyptian green faience amulet with four crocodiles, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, well-preserved with nice detail and strong green color. The four crocodile are depicted side by side on integral base with heads slightly raised. 35 x 38mm. Cf. C. Andrews, 'Amulets of Ancient Egypt', 1994, p.93, pl. 93g. Ex collection of Horatio and Patsy Melas, Alexandria, Egypt, acquired before 1967, thence by descent, moved to Switzerland and London.
