A carved lily blossom with red center and three areas of deep blue surrounding it. Nymphaea caerulea, or the Blue Egyptian Water Lily was an important symbol for the Ancient Egyptians. The Egyptian's religion and culture was centered around the foundation that the sun would raise and fall every day, and the lily was a physical mirror of this.
