Description : Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous necklace of wearable form that is strung with dozens of faience beads glazed in a myriad of polychrome hues. Groups of petite seed-form beads are interspersed with several tubular beads to create visual appeal, and a solid marble pendant of cylindrical form is centered on the composition. With a modern gold-filled loop and lobster clasp combo, this is a beautiful example of ancient art meets modern fashion! Condition report : Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Faience beads and marble pendant are ancient, stringing and gold-filled components are modern. Minor nicks and fading to glaze pigment on some beads, with light abrasions to marble pendant, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remains of glaze pigment across most beads, and great surface smoothness to marble pendant.
