Description : Late Period, Ca. 664-332 BC. A light blue faience amulet depicting Shu, the air god, in a kneeling pose with one knee touching the ground and the other raised. His arms curve gracefully with the sun resting between them. There's a hole for suspension. In ancient Egypt Shu was believed to be the one who rasied the sun to the sky, separating it from the earth. For similar see: C. Andrews, Amulets of Ancient Egypt, 1994, p. 22.
