Description : Ancient Egypt, Chalcolithic Period, Bronze Age II, ca. 2700 to 2500 BCE. A beautiful mace head exhibiting an apple-shaped form, all hand-carved from honey-yellow alabaster with opaque white bands. The weapon's profile tapers towards the base where a wooden rod would be inserted into the drilled socketing hole. The white banding runs vertically to the head's orientation, making this an attractive example of ancient stone weaponry! Size: 2.66 W x 2.43 H (6.8 cm x 6.2 cm), 3.5 H (8.9 cm) on included custom stand.
