Description : Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 4th - 1st century BCE. A wonderful polychrome cartonnage pectoral, composed of linen and gesso, with beautiful hints of blue, red, white, black and gold. The winged scarab beetle sits with wings outstretched at top of panel, with U-shaped bands of geometric shapes below. Professionally mounted and conserved. 8-3/4H x 7-1/2W. Provenance: Ex-Private Royal Oak, MI Collection. All items in this auction have been legally acquired, are legal to sell, and guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
