Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th Dynasty, ca. 664 to 525 BCE. A miniature cast-bronze depiction of Min (sometimes Khem), the god of fertility and reproduction. Wearing a double-feathered crown with a sun disk traditionally representative of the god Amun, Min stands with a rigid posture upon slender legs while holding a flail in his right hand and his phallus in his left. The deity also has an integral suspension loop behind his head, and the entire body is covered in a fine emerald-green patina. An ancient symbol of virility contrived in Pre-Dynastic Egypt, this is a rare depiction in bronze! Custom wooden display stand included. Condition report : Loss to phallus. Age-commensurate surface wear, fading to finer features like the face and incised feather patterns, and slight bending to overall form. Light earthen deposits within recessed areas, and nice green patina throughout.
