This is the rating and price for Early 20Th C. African Dogon Wooden Abstract Female

Description : West Africa, Mali, Dogon peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. An enigmatic, hand-carved wooden figure of a woman, standing nude atop an integral conical base, with a slanted posture and angled abdomen. Her pendulant, triangular breasts are the central feature comprising her chest, with right-angle shoulders and an elongated tubular neck. Her abstruse head exhibits a slender facial profile with drilled eyes, dainty lips, protruding triangular ears detailed with incised diagonal motifs, and a bifurcated coiffure arching atop her narrow skull. The Dogon are well-known for their masks and wooden figurative art. A figure like this example may represent an ancestor, whose worship is a major component of Dogon religion.
