This lithograph, Dendera - Dec. 1838, is taken from David Roberts' Egypt & Nubia, perhaps his most well-known work. This image depicts the ruins of the temple at Dendera, half buried in the sands. Figures kneel and stand under the archway. Limited to 250 hand-colored copies, this print was engraved by Louis Haghe and mounted on board as issued. This piece is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
