This is the rating and price for Colonial Leather Pith Helmet

Description : Africa, Colonial Era, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A curiously seasoned leather pith hat / helmet, made from 3 thick layers of hide, and sewn together with sinew. The elongated brim is stamp branded IC near the base of the crown. The leather hide has aged and dried in such a way that it is extremely hard and no longer pliable- the old repair on the upper crown is certainly antique since no needle could easily penetrate this tough surface today- it is as if this baked in the sun! An interesting example of the typical military headgear of European armies.
