Description : The collection includes:. 1. A painted iron clock with label of London artist and craftsman E. A Cunningham. 2. A desktop clock in brass bound case with brass gimbals similar to a marine chronometer. 3. Locomotive and caboose bookends. 4. A small wood container with heart motif. 5. A molded plastic Chinese junk ship in original presentation case. 6. A late 20th century British silver box with painted plaques. The asymmetrical sterling silver box with stamped British hallmarks as shown is fronted by hand painted plaque. The aqua glass weights are included with terra cotta colored figures of rooster and girl in bonnet. 7. Six pencil signed prints by Aboriginal Australians: a) Patricia Marrfurraw number 2 from an edition of 30, titled Fire Flies, plate measures 13 x 6.5 inches, b) Aaron McTaggart number 3 from an edition of 30, dated 2009, titled Snake Skin, plate measures 13 x 6.5 inches. c) Franklin Mye, number 18 from an edition of 50, dated 2009, titled Coming of the Light, block measures 9.5 x 4.5 inches, d) Graham Ashely, number 25 from an edition of 30, dated 2007, titled Billabong Series, plate measures 13 x 6.5 inches. e) Peter Garamanak Browne, number 18 from an edition of 20, dated 2008, titled Jelly Fish Dreaming, block measures 12 x 12 inches, f) James Gaston, number 9 from an edition of 30, dated 2008, titled The Last Wave, block measures 12 x 12 inches. 9) A contemporary carved wood Dan scoop from Ivory Coast with figural male head carving having metal teeth and black patina. Provenance: Morton and Estelle Sosland. The Soslands began acquiring examples of African and other tribal art in the 1960s, possibly earlier. Over the last two decades, objects of African Art with provenance to Morton and Estelle Sosland have been sold for up to six figures at major auctions in New York and California.
