This is the rating and price for Baule Wood Carved Strip Loom, Reed Beater

Description : Early 20th century, made entirely from wood and leather, this piece is a fantastic piece of African history. This would have been used in the weaving of long thin strips of cloth that were then sewn together, selvedge to selvedge to make the larger complete piece of cloth. A reed is part of a weaving loom, and resembles a comb or a frame with many vertical slits. It is used to separate and space the warp threads, to guide the shuttle's motion across the loom, and to push the weft threads into place. Size 9 H x 7 1/2 W, 10 1/2 H on included custom stand Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
