Palm wine is used at funerals, celebrations of marriages, for performing traditional rites, and as a reward form the ( colonial) king or Fon to his loyal subjects on special occasions. Palm Sap is fermented into wine, first by reaching the Palm flower and tapping its milk. all at the very top of the Palm tree.
