Description : Ancient Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Late Dynastic Period, 11th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 2050 to 332 BCE. A beautiful ensemble of nine Egyptian amulets, one made of glass, and the remaining eight from varying colors of faience. The abstract anthropomorphic amulet (second row from the bottom, far left) is comprised of amethyst-hued glass with a delineated torso and head, wearing a pendant-adorned white-glass necklace, its face boasting a pair of white eyes with stylized red pupils. The faience amulets, from top to bottom and left to right, are as follows: a recumbent lioness, a grazing cow with stylized udders, an enclosed wadjet (or wedjat or Eye of Horus), a standing Pataikos, a standing Bes, a deep-blue standing Sekhmet, a red abstract fish, and a seated zoomorphic depiction of Tawaret (or Tauret). Cylindrical lucite display stand included. Size of largest (Pataikos): 1.375 H (3.5 cm). Condition report : All amulets glued to lucite display tube. Some amulets have losses to legs, peripheries, and/or suspension loops. Each amulet has age-commensurate surface wear, light discoloration, and fading to finer details, otherwise very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
