Included in this lot are three plates excised from the fifth volume of Description de l'Egypte : ou, Recueil des observations et des recherches qui ont ete faites en Egypte pendant l'expedition de l'armee francaise (published between 1809 and 1828). These engravings depict various coins, medallions, amulets, and statuettes from Ancient Egypt. Plates present include the numbers 58, 82, and 83. This collection of plates is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
