The detailed hood with some of its red inlays still preserved, rising in front of the figure-8 arrangement of its tail which then rises on high in undulating curves, its head adorned with a globular celestial sphere, with a tang on the reverse for attachment 91/4 in. (23.5 cm) high PROVENANCE Property of a European Private Collector Antiquities and Islamic Art, Sotheby's New York, 4 June 1998, lot 82.
