Description : AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF SEATED SEKHMET Late Period, Circa 664 - 332 B.C. The lion-headed goddess sits on a hollow stepped throne, wearing a tripartite wig, a sun disc headdress with a frontal uraeus, and an ankle-length close-fitting dress, with incised facial features, her right hand resting above her lap and her left hand raised up, pierced for holding her sistrum, now missing, 17.5cm high. Provenance: With Harlan Berk Galleries, Chicago 1998, Private collection of a lady, Rome.
