Description : FOUR AFRICAN ZOOMORPHIC MASKS, WITH A TIBETAN MASK the first from the We tribe of Ivory Coast, Africa having circular bulging eyes over a carved snout decorated with metal tacks and metal carved teeth above a menacing exposed tongue, decorated with animal fur (colobus monkey?), with carved wood mane surrounding surmounted with a crown decorated with woven fabric trim and tacks and flanked by two carved ears, the back with padded fabric protection around the mane (see a similar mask in the Brooklyn Museum collection) - h: 15 x w: 14 x d: 6 in., another zoomorphic mask from the Ge Gon Dan Tribe of Ivory Coast, Africa with raffia trim, its bulbous forehead above pierced slit eyes above a sharp pointed nose flanked by high cheekbones above a long hornbill type beak flanked by carved ears with 7 metal rings attached, all surmounted by an incised coiffeur with two antelope ears flanking carved curved antelope horns, with original rim holes, the top portion with long raffia trim - h: 22 x w: 8 in., the third polychrome painted and carved mask with woven raffia headdress with fringe from Mali, Africa of rectangular shape with pierced eyes, carved nose and mouth flanked by tall ears with concave carving, surmounted by backward arched horns and attached woven raffia black and natural headdress ending in 4.5 in. red and natural raffia fringe, with original drilled holes, including headdress 31 in., the mask alone is h: 19 x w: 8 in., carved wood headdress with painted accents with attached raffia around the base - 28 in., the last a Tibetan carved wood Buddhist ritual skull mask, these distinctive skull masks are used for festivals throughout the Himalayas - h: 7.5 x w: 6 x d: 3.25 in.
