Description : Baga people, Guinea. Full figure representation of the male counterpart of the female Nimba. This is an uncommon carving of a male figure wearing af female Nimba head. Carved wood, stained black with silver tacks outlining the hair nostrils and mouth. Tubular arms extend and meet at the chin. A full, round belly implies harvest bounty and overall well being. This Authentic African Tribal Sculpture has been examined by Near Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy and is approximately 130 years old. A certificate of the examination will accompany the artwork. 43in H.
