Description : H. 20 cm. Female figure on stool, holding her hands on her shoulders and flanked by two pegs carved with small masks on the sides. The figure is seated on a cushion-like oval base, the edges of the cushion are decorated with a braid, the rounded base shows a central oval incision, probably to be interpreted as a chamber for relics. Very nice braid hair and tattoos. Heavy wood with reddish brown glossy patina. Signs of use and age, rounding of contours due to abrasion, surface slightly scratched, thin gaps. Formerly collection of Heinrich Görtz. (180)
