Description : The first with slightly curved single-edged blade fullered along the back-edge on each side and struck with two marks on one side of the forte and with a single mark on the other, characteristic hilt retaining traces of engraved and silver-damascened decoration, comprising downcurved quillons and knuckle-guard each with plummet-shaped terminal, brass collar chased with foliage, and beaked dark horn grip, the second with earlier tapering blade cut with three fullers over each face of the forte, the central fuller stamped 'Inri' on one side and 'Maria' on the other, brass hilt comprising quillon, knuckle-guard and pommel all cast in the round as monster's heads in the style of a Ceylonese kastana, and with wire-bound grip (2) 80.5 cm. and 80.8 cm. blades [B. 415, 674]
