Title : A Coco De Mer Nut And Carved Vessels 19Th Century And Later (6)
Condition report : Coco de Mer, polished all over but in very good visual order, however a clean sawn join exists encircling the item and tiny degree of filler seen at the join line.
Goblet, in good general visual order throughout.
Coconut on elephants, damage and minor loss to shell at join to support below. Metal spring catch visible to interior to hold liner in place. Original liner.
Chip carved shell, in good general visual order.
Wood stand, glued repairs to naturally loosening joints below. One beast with chipped area to lower jaw. The same beast is lacking most of paw. Another with a restored lower leg. The third lacking tongue.
Vase, in good general visual order throughout but foot mount distorted and reapplied with putty to base area. Very minor surface blemishes/ marks to silver. Silver unmarked.Bonhams, auctioneer, London, UK
