Description : A beautiful Egyptian faience amulet of the goddess Mut, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, wearing a long tight-fitting gown and striated tripartite wig surmounted by the Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. A marvelous example with fine style and detail, the vertical plinth at back with a vertical column of hieroglyphic text. H: 3 ½ in (8.9 cm). Well preserved, the glaze now a pale green. Mounted on a black rectangular wood base. Ex New Jersey private collection acquired in the 1960's.
