Description : (4 PCS) TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE POTTERY (4) Pieces of Tuskegee Institute Art Pottery, crafted in the late 1930s-1940s via the ceramics program that was launched at this Alabama African American university in 1937, including: Tall tapered cylindrical vase, with abstract design carved surface, yellow matte and crystalline glaze, signed on base 'Tuskegee Inst. Pottery', 10 3/4 high, 3 diam., Low vase with orange and olive glazes, diagonal mouth and narrow foot, 3 1/2 high, 3 1/4 diam., Rectangular bowl with triangular feet, carved wood motif surface and blue-green glaze, signed on base 'Made by Students' and 'Tuskegee Institute Pottery', 1 5/8 high, 7 1/2 x 4 1/2, and Coil made bowl, turquoise exterior glaze and off white interior, impressed conjoined 'TIC' mark on base, 2 high, 5 1/4 diam. All pieces in good condition.
