Description : Ancient Egypt, Neolithic to Predynastic, Naqada I to II period, ca. 7000 to 3000 BCE. A collection of 3 knapped chert blades which may have functioned as tools and ritualistic items that may have been deposited in tombs or used during burial. One is a projectile point with a hollow or deeply notched base, known as a Fayum (Faiyum) point for the area they are often discovered. The other blades were perhaps an inserts for a sickle or a cutting instrument for farming or ceremonial butchery in a temple.
