Description : West Africa, ca. mid-20th century CE. A lovely pair of glass necklaces, strung with petite yellow seed beads and tumbled sea glass. Both are strung in modern times on a wire with a lobster clasp as wearable pieces, the beads symmetrically arranged on both. The longer strand contains pairs of yellow seed beads set between large pieces of collected beach glass, each hand drilled and left in its natural, tide tossed state with surfaces slightly pitted in hues of brick red, deep green, pale blue, and white. The other strand is comprised of tubular red glass beads set between seed beads. A lovely pair that could be worn together or separately.
