Description : Europe, Italy, Venice, found in western Africa, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. An enticing set of 4 Venetian glass trade bead strands that can be restrung into attractive and wearable necklaces. Two of the strands are comprised of petite seed-form beads with vibrant hues of red, white, and blue. One strand features similarly sized beads with softer hues, and the last strand bears larger beads with zigzagging, radiating, and ovoid bands of red on the light blue bead bodies. Trade beads played a major role in the age of European exploration and colonization, serving as currency on multiple continents.
